Application Procedure for NON-EU ApplicantsApplication Procedure for EU and EEA Applicants
APPLICATION DOCUMENTS:
1. Application form;
2. Secondary School Diploma and Diploma Supplement – notary certified copy;
*In case there is no grading scale attached to the diploma, candidates have to present an official document with the grading system description.
3. An official document issued by an accredited body, certifying the applicant’s right to pursue their studies at Higher Education Institutions in the country where secondary education was obtained (Download form: here);
4. Higher Education Diploma (Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree) and Diploma Supplement – notary certified copy;
*In case that the Diploma was issued from Foreign Higher Education Institution the applicants must present a Certificate for recognition of Higher Educational Degree, issued from TU-Varna.
5. Medical Reference;
*The document should be issued no earlier than one month prior to submitting the application documents to TU-Varna.
6. Certificate for Language and Specialized Preparation (in the language in which the training will be conducted) issued by a Higher Education Institution in the Republic of Bulgaria.
* Only for direct enrollment as Master’s degree students!
7. Copy of Passport / ID card;
8. Six passport photos (dimensions: 4.5/3.5 cm).

*Documents specified in points 2, 3, 4 and 5 must be:
• Certified in accordance with the international requirements:
– for countries that have a mutual legal assistance agreement with Bulgaria concerning certification of documents, the agreement requirements shall apply;
– for member countries under the Hague Convention, documents are certified with Apostille stamps;
– for all other countries, documents must be certified by the Ministry of Education (and/or Ministry of Healthcare), Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the applicant’s country of residence and by the Embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria in the respected country;
• Translated in Bulgarian language with legalized translation in Bulgaria. It is necessary to send the translated documents for certification of the translator’s signature to the Bulgarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

ADMISSION CRITERIA:
The applicants must obtain Grade Point Average from the Higher Education Diploma (an Overall Average Mark from the Curriculum subjects and from the State Examinations / Diploma Thesis) not less than the Grade “Good”.

ADMISSION PROCESS:
The applicants must send the scanned copies of their documents for a prior examination to the Foreign Students Department of TU-Varna at the following email address: fs_centre@tu-varna.bg The candidates have to scan all the pages of the required documents, including the stamps.

Upon approval of the listed documents by the Foreign Students Department, the applicants must:
1/ pay a fee in the amount of 150 lv. into the Bank Account of TU-Varna for the recognition of Higher Education Diploma from Foreign Higher Education Institutions and to complete an Application for starting the procedure;

2/ send the receipt of payment along with the whole set of documents via Post Office at the following address:

Deadline for the submission of documents: 15.09.
Foreign Students Department forwards the documents of the approved applicants to the Ministry of Education and Science, according to art. 95, par. 8 of Higher Education Act in order to be issued a Visa for Long-Term Stay (type D).
After receiving the Certificate from the Ministry of Education and Science, the applicants must submit their documents to the Embassy / Consulate of Republic of Bulgaria in order to receive a Long-Stay Visa (type D).
After obtaining the Visa, the applicants can be enrolled at the University.

LANGUAGE AND SPECIALIZED PREPARATION
The Training for Language and Specialized Preparation (Preparatory Course) includes two modules:
• Module I – Language Preparation (650 academic hours);
• Module II – Specialized Preparation (350 academic hours).
The applicants who have a good command of English (or of a Language in which the training will be conducted) may pass an exam, without undertaking the Training of the module “Language Preparation”. The students who have successfully passed the exam will obtain recognition of the ECTS credits by a curriculum of the module: Language Preparation.
For enrollment in the Module “Specialized Preparation” could apply only those who were taught in the Module “Language Training” or have successfully passed the Exam “Language Preparation”.
Upon successful completion of all the exams by the Curriculum, the applicants will be awarded a Certificate for Language and Specialized Preparation.

Fee for the Exam “Language Preparation” (Bulgarian / English): 50 Euro (Bank Account of TU-Varna)

ENROLLMENT DOCUMENTS:
1. Application to Rector;
2. List of Documents (can be bought from bookstores of TU-Varna);
3. Declaration from a parent (legal guardian) stating that he or she will cover all the applicant’s expenses during his/her stay in Bulgaria (certified by notary public along with translation and legalization);
4. Document for paid tuition fee.
