Preparatory course

All candidates who have chosen one of the majors delivered in English and have no written or spoken command of the language are advised to attend a 9-month English Preparatory Course. The Preparatory Course starts in October each year and includes as follows: English Language – part 1, English Language – part 2, English Language for academic purposes, Mathematics and Elective Subject: Physics or Informatics.

If the candidate has a good command of English, he/she may sit an exam and after passing it, he/she may be enrolled in the chosen major without taking the Preparatory Course. The exam fee is 250 EUR and is paid in advance.

 Academic calendar 2024 / 2025

The Training for Language and Specialized Preparation (Preparatory Course) includes two modules:
• Module I – Language Preparation (650 academic hours);
• Module II – Specialized Preparation (350 academic hours).

The applicants who have a good command of Bulgarian may pass exams, without undertaking the Training of the Preparatiry course. The students who have successfully passed the exams will obtain recognition of the ECTS credits by a curriculum.  Upon successful completion of all the exams by the Curriculum, the applicants will be awarded a Certificate for Language and Specialized Preparation.

The applicants who present a Certificate for Language and Specialized Taught (English Language) issued by a Higher Education Institution from Republic of Bulgaria will be directly enrolled in the first (or higher) year of study – Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree.
