Form of study: full time (3 years); part time (4 years); independent (1 year)

Applicants for an independent form of doctoral studies together with the application documents, must submit Doctoral Research Concept (ab. 70 pages) and pay a fee for its examination. Fee for Applicants from EU and EEA (in Bulgarian language) is 300 BGN, for Applicants from EU and EEA (in English) is 300 EUR and for NON-EU Applicants is 560 EUR.

2. Higher Education Diploma for Master’s Degree and Diploma Supplement – notary certified copy. In case that the Diploma was issued by Foreign Higher Education Institution the applicants must present a Certificate for recognition of Higher Educational Degree, issued from TU-Varna.
3. List of publications, translated into Bulgarian;
4. Short CV

If the mater’s degree is from Foreign Higher Education Institutions, the applicants must pay a fee in the amount of 150 BGN into the Bank Account of TU-Varna for the recognition of Higher Education Diploma from Foreign Higher Education Institutions and complete an Application.

*Documents specified in points 2 must be:
• Certified in accordance with the international requirements:
          – for countries that have a mutual legal assistance agreement with Bulgaria concerning certification of documents, the agreement requirements shall apply;
          – for member countries under the Hague Convention, documents are certified with Apostille stamps;
          – for all other countries, documents must be certified by the Ministry of Education (and/or Ministry of Healthcare), Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the applicant’s country of residence and by the Embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria in the respected country;
• Translated in Bulgarian language with legalized translation in Bulgaria. It is necessary to send the translated documents for certification of the translator’s signature to the Bulgarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

 

PREPARATORY COURSE:
All candidates who have chosen one of the majors delivered in English and have no written or spoken command of the language are advised to attend a 9-month English Preparatory Course. The Preparatory Course starts in October each year and includes as follows: English Language – part 1, English Language – part 2, English Language for academic purposes, Mathematics and Elective Subject: Physics or Informatics.
If the candidate has a good command of English, he/she may sit an exam and after passing it, he/she may be enrolled in the chosen major without taking the Preparatory Course. The exam fee is 250 EUR and is paid in advance.

ADMISSION  CRITERIA:

The applicants must obtain Grade Point Average from the Higher Education Diploma (an Overall Average Mark from the Curriculum subjects and from the State Examinations / Diploma Thesis) not less than the Grade “Good”.

 

PREPARATORY COURSE:

All candidates who have chosen one of the majors delivered in English and have no written or spoken command of the language are advised to attend a 9-month English Preparatory Course. The Preparatory Course starts in October each year and includes as follows: English Language – part 1, English Language – part 2, English Language for academic purposes, Mathematics and Elective Subject: Physics or Informatics.

If the candidate has a good command of English, he/she may sit an exam and after passing it, he/she may be enrolled in the chosen major without taking the Preparatory Course. The exam fee is 250 EUR and is paid in advance.

ADMISSION PROCEDURE:

Step 1: Registration in online admission system

Step 2: Checking for admission criteria:  The Applicants must attach in online admission system a Higher School Diploma (Bachelor or Master degree) and Diploma Supplement and wait for the verification result. (duration: 3 working days)

Step 3: Legalization and translation of the documents: Documents specified in point 4 must be  legalized  in accordance with the international requirements and translated in Bulgarian language with notary legalized translation in Bulgaria. Step 4: Checking for the admission documents: The Applicants must attach in online admission system the whole set of documants – legalized and translated and wait for the verification result. (duration: 3 working days)

Step 5: Submission of the admission documents: After approval, the Aplicants must bring thewhole set of  original documents and 6 passport photos (3,5/4,5 cm) to Foreign Students office in Technical university of Varna or send it via Post Office. DEADLINE is 20-th of September

Step 6: Recognition of a bachelor’s / master’s degree –  only if the diploma is from a foreign universityТhe applicants must pay a fee in the amount of 150 lv. into the Bank Account of TU-Varna and complete an Application form for recognition of higher education. (duration: 5-15 days) 

Step 7: Procedure for issuing a long-term Visa (type D): TU – Varna forwards the documents of the approved applicants to the Ministry of Education and Science to be issued a Certificate for a Visa D – duration: 5-15 daysAfter receiving the Certificate from the Ministry of Education and Science, the applicants must submit their documents to the Embassy / Consulate of the Republic of Bulgaria in order to receive a Visa D – duration: 10-45 days.

Step 8: Enrolment: Тhe applicants must pay the tuition fee and complete an Enrollment form (duration: 5 working days)

In order to apply for education in TU-Varna, the minimum examination grades from specific subjects, taught at school SHOULD NOT be less than 62% out of the maximum value of the assessment system in the respective country. (Competitive Exam + Grade 1 + Grade 2) / 3 > 62%

Step 3: Legalization and translation of the documents: Documents specified in points 2 and 3 must be  legalized  in accordance with the international requirements and translated in Bulgarian language with notary legalized translation in Bulgaria. Step 4: Issuance of a Certificate by the Bulgarian Regional Inspectorate of Education: In Bulgaria, the Government should recognize every High School Diploma, issued from foreign country. Тhe documents must be submitted personally by the applicant or through a notary authorized person. The fee of 35 BGN. (duration: 20-30 days)

Step 5: Checking for the admission documents: The Applicants must attach in online admission system the whole set of documants – legalized and translated and wait for the verification result. (duration: 3 working days)

Step 6: Submission of the admission documents: After approval, the Aplicants must bring the whole set of  original documents and 6 passport photos (3,5/4,5 cm) to Foreign Students office in Technical university of Varna or send it via Post Office. DEADLINE is 20-th of September
