ANNOTATIONS

The specialty Intelligent Transport Systems (Automotive Electronics) includes basic knowledge of: Automotive electronics; Electric cars and Intelligent transport systems: autonomous vehicle management systems, infrastructure for charging of electric cars, intelligent traffic management systems and other modern technologies. Successful graduates will find employment mainly in areas related to the development, production and operation of electronic devices, automotive electronics, electric cars and intelligent transport systems.

During the first two academic years are studied a wide range of fundamental and general technical disciplines. In the third and fourth academic years, students develop as specialists in electronics, focusing on automotive technology. Students have an additional opportunity to choose from several areas of specialization, and depending on their choice, they receive more in-depth training in: Automotive Electronics, Electric Cars, Intelligent Transport Systems.Modern software packages for computer simulation and design MATLAB, PSPICE, Altium Designer, etc., development systems for Texas Instruments, Xilinx, Altera, Agilent, National Instruments, etc., as well as the programming of C / C ++ / C # and VHDL / Verilog, Python, provide opportunities for modern practical training as well as for research and applied development.

The realization of electronics engineers is in many Bulgarian and foreign companies, such as: Kontrax Bulgaria, Renesas Electronics Corporation, Broadcom, Visteon Electronics, SmartCom, Sensata Technologies, Sonic Hybrids Ltd, Technosens Ltd., Eldominvest Ltd., Melexis Semiconductors, Microsystems Ltd. and others. For some students, some of the companies offer scholarships and opportunities to increase their practical training through summer internships in a real work environment.

The international contacts of the department provide an opportunity for annual specialized training of outstanding students and doctoral students at universities in Belgium, Greece, France, England and Germany, and since 2016. – and in Spain. The Department of Electronic Engineering and Microelectronics participates in national and international projects and provides students with opportunities to join the teams in some of them. In connection with the launched project, students can carry out international mobility in partner foreign universities: Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), Germany; Vilnius Gediminas Technical University (VGTU), Lithuania; Politehnica University of Bucharest (PUB), Romania.

The students having graduated in Intelligent Transport Systems (Automotive Electronics) with Bachelor’s degree are entitled to continue their studies in the same major for Master’s degree.
